Music by Wojtek Jachna/Kuba Ziołek/Jacek Buhl trio is “material”which can be associated with the contemporary version of soundtracks to Polish animated movies of the 1960s and 1970s. Characteristic for many of such soundtracks was the collision of avant-jazz feeling with slightly sterile electronics in the spirit of Polish Radio Experimental Studio (PRES). On the “Animated music” acoustic instruments are used in the traditional manner, but likewise the musicians do not shun from sonoristic exploration and electronic preparation. The hearing field is expanded by synthesizer sounds. All these elements give the creators a wide range of carefully selected tones, which control with remarkable ease, so sparingly so as not to destroy the narrative tension.
