Wojciech Jachna – Trumpeter, improviser, composer and sideman. Graduate of jazz and popular music at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and History at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz.

His credits include more than 40 albums with a variety of performers, including Contemporary Noise Sextet, Sing Sing Penelope, Innercity Ensemble, Tri-City Mordas, and reegae Dubska.
He has received several scholarships from the City of Bydgoszcz, a scholarship from the Minister of Culture, and was awarded in 2015 by the Mayor of Bydgoszcz for promoting the musical culture of Bydgoszcz.

He has collaborated with many artists, including the legend of the Polish improvised scene, Andrzej Przybielski, as well as Grant C. Weston, DJ Strangefruit, Irek Wojtczak, the Oleś Brothers, Dominik Strycharski, Barbara Drążkowska, Kuba Ziołek, Maciej Staniecki, Jacaszek, Marek Kądzielą, Grzegorz Nadolny, Tomasz Glazik, Rafał Gorzycki, Tomasz Pawlicki, Rafał Kołacki,Tom Gadecki, Marcin Dymiter, Anna Zielinska, Ksawery Wójciński, Jacek Mazurkiewicz, Paweł Szpura, Artur Maćkowiak, Rafał Iwański, or Zbigniew Chojnacki.

As of 2019, he is a teacher of Jazz Trumpet and Jazz History, at the Karol Szymanowski School of Music in Toruń. From 2020 to 2022, he taught at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz, Poland, the subjects: “Collective Improvisation” and “Shaping the Personality of the Artist”.

As a sideman he took part in many projects from different musical worlds – Bakshish “Ego”, Variete “Songs of the Colonists”, OvE “Without Territory”, Alameda 5 “Spirit of the Tornado”, Old River “The Eyes of the Earth Closed”, Tropy “Eight Pieces”, Emiter “Microsilion”, Demar “Reflections”, X-NAVI:ET “Machina Nova”, George Dorn Screams “EP”, and others.

Currently creates many interesting, musical projects – Jachna/Buhl (“Mr. Jabu”, “Unfinished Books”, “Atropina”- ” Synthomathic” Requiem Rec. ), SUNDIAL TRIO – (“Sundial” album For Tune 2014, “Sundial II”, “Sundial Trio feat Irek Wojtczak” Hevhethia 2016, “Sundial Trio – IV- Alpaka Rec 2022), Jachna/Wójcinski (“Night Talks” 2015, “Conversations with Space” 2018, Listen Foundation ), JAZĄBU (“Space Boat” Audio Cave 2017 ), or Jachna/Mazurkiewicz/Buhl (“Hidden Sounds” Instant Classic 2016, “God’s Body” , [… ] – Audio Cave ). In duo with Maciej Staniecki, he records two albums: “Two Souls” and “Complementary Colors” – on the albums the musicians explore the sonic possibilities of their instruments and immerse themselves in the world of sounds. In 2022 and 2023, he took part in the work of the international collective Witkacy Tribute Ensemble, which recorded original music to texts by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz under the auspices of the “Witkacy Institute.” In 2018 he released a solo trumpet album “EMANATIONS” (MULTIKULTI Rec.), and “CONCEPTION” ( Mellow Yellow Rec). Since 2020, he has led the Wojciech Jachna Squad, with which he recorded two albums – “Elements” and “Earth (Audio Cave).
